Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!
Ever seen the Life Alert commercial ?
I used the saying haphazardly… often mocking the very nature of the call for help, because I was very proud in my own strength. I didn’t need anyone. Ever. Even if I had fallen.
But in my arrogance and pride, I found myself struggling even more in my times of need. Regardless of my ability to say it, my situation and condition always gave me away.
I needed someone, something to save me…
And it was at my lowest moment that I said to the Lord in my own way, “Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up…” In that moment, my life alarm had been pushed and in came Jesus.
Like a flood, His rescue was quick.
All the years I spent surviving, just barely making it, were instantly covered by His grace and a peace I’d never known fell over me.
Don’t be afraid to call out, “Help! I’ve fallen…”
And be met by His love.
