A couple of years ago, I was looking at myself in the mirror and became trapped into this lie:
“I am miserable and unworthy. Who would ever love me?”
But as I’ve walked with God, He has been telling me otherwise.
God tells me that I am made by His perfect design. He is pleased with me just being who I am, and my true identity is in Christ! I declare that I am strong and have hope in Him because He has given me the power and authority to live by His image. In order to make all of this possible, God sent His perfect Son into the world. He exchanged our sins for His righteousness, so that we may become the righteousness of God.
In Ephesians 1, Paul says that we have redemption through Jesus’ sacrificial life and the blood that was shed to forgive our sins. Through repentance and acceptance of Jesus’ death, we even get to be called His children. When we believe that truth, the Father doesn’t see our imperfections. Instead, He sees Christ’s righteousness covering us. Our relationship with God is restored, and it gives us eternal life where we can live with Him forever.
God is so good to us! He didn’t have to die for us, but Jesus still chose to sacrifice himself in order to make a way for us to be with Him. I fell in love with Him, and when I truly felt His love in my heart, I had a hunger for Him. I want to live for my Father. Every morning, I need His truth that I am His beloved child. When He looks at me, He says that He is deeply in love with me. I praise Him with all of my heart, soul, and mind. And because I now belong to Him, the enemy no longer has a hold on me!
